COMMUNITY AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

We  will gladly join a planet wide effort to start with low-tech, mid-tech  and research high tech projects and for the Creation and Implementation of the Air, Earth, and Water Day Foundation. (  International Planetary Greenhouse Gases Reduction Institute (a world  wide non-governmental organization to review research projects and to  oversee global de-carbonization strategies and projects.)

Local and Domestic common-sense projects:

1.   Voluntary Manual Stop-Go Technology is called for:  Turn off the engine if the idling time will be longer  than 6 seconds before moving. Start at schools. Later expand the  programs to include cross town traffic at every intersection.

2.   Then no cars in downtown areas in cities on Sunday worldwide.

3.   All bridge/road tolls must be collected utilizing open road technology.

A bill to be advocated for would involve Pollution Violations,  perhaps utilizing a series of tri-angulated lasers, along freeways as  many motorists drive at excessive speeds far above the maximum speed  limits producing tremendous amount of CO2, et cetera due to wind drag  and the inefficiencies of the internal combustion engines. This will be a  source of funds for the social and medical costs associated with  burning fossil fuels, especially respiratory illnesses.

International projects: A Multi-Disciplinary Focused Global Approach is called for…A Lester R. Brown approach!

We  will gladly join a planet wide effort to start with low-tech, mid-tech  and research high tech projects and for the Creation and Implementation:

5.    Tundra CO2 Sunscreens and Global Climate Change Forwarding Stations  are a start. Funding is needed to acquire fee simple, mineral rights  and/or leasehold interests in large tracts of land and marine property  to “lock” mineral rights and to provide a respite and sanctuary for  animals to rebuild populations. (A Lester R. Brown approach!) Barrages  of cattails, sea grass, mussels and oysters are to be deployed along the  appropriate waterways to curb pollution. The 27,000 and the 87,000  abandoned oils wells in the Gulf of Mexico and the continental US are to  be plugged and capped to prevent methane from escaping if they cannot  be converted into passive geo-thermal wells. Further, perhaps, CO2 gas  could be utilized to make vast quantities of dry ice sealed in thick  plastic containers to be deployed in an underwater vehicle with fans to  direct the cold water towards the underside of the glacier. (insert picture) under them to reduce melting. Also, movable ice sleds could be placed at key positions on glaciers to reduce melting.

6.   One day a year must be a global holiday, the AIR, EARTH and WATER DAY,  with all but only essential industries running. This day is to be  dedicated to the reduction of the existing level of CO2 in the  atmosphere, de-acidization of the oceans and the reclamation of  soils/areas of contamination. This event will be a LIVE/Internet/ In-Person multi-city Global fundraising, educational/scientific conference Green Fair. All  will donate their skills, monies, antiques or artwork, and time.  Celebrities, artists of all kinds and children will perform in musical  concerts and/or dramatic performances. There will be in-person and live  internet art and antiques auctions. Successful bidders can dedicate  their purchases for specific projects, i.e., scholarships and/or for the  purchase of lands and/or to lease tracts of land to enable animal  populations to rebound. A  bonded insured non-profit entity will be formed, and all funds will be  deposited in a large commercial US bank. Please see Dolphin Tale and  Dolphin Tale 2 for ideas.

All  are requested to reflect fifteen (15) minutes in the morning and  fifteen (15) minutes in the afternoon to these ends. Selected Ideas,  chosen by a citizen scientist panel and one composed of recognized leading scientists are to be implemented and/or to be researched.

At  one point in time, depending on the environmental state of affairs,  Non-Violent Massive Civil Disobedience Events must be planned, perhaps  in conjunction with the Air, Earth, and Water Day!)

There could be  annual grants and college scholarships open to all with a panel  consisting of interested citizen scientists and scientists to oversee  the choice of winning ideas and subsequent research leading to trial  implementation of the best ideas.team!
